Yes. Our mobile service is designed to bring professional dental hygiene care directly to your home, care home or another suitable location using professional portable dental equipment.
The service is not exclusively for elderly or housebound patients. It can be suitable for busy professionals, people with limited mobility, older adults, care home residents, people who prefer privacy at home and anyone who values the convenience of having their dental hygienist come to them.
Services include oral health screening and assessment, mouth cancer screening, routine dental hygiene appointments, professional dental cleaning, periodontal gum disease treatment and ongoing management, denture cleaning, personalised oral health instruction, fluoride application and diet and oral health advice.
The assessment considers relevant medical and dental history, gum health, supporting tissues, oral hygiene and factors that may increase the risk of oral disease. Where appropriate, periodontal measurements may also be recorded. Findings are explained clearly and an appropriate care plan is discussed.
Yes. Mouth cancer screening is carried out as part of preventative oral healthcare. The visible soft tissues of the mouth are examined for unusual changes or abnormalities. A screening does not provide a definitive diagnosis. Where something potentially concerning is identified, appropriate further assessment or referral will be advised.
Appointments are tailored to the individual and may include assessment of gum health, professional removal of plaque and calculus, cleaning of the teeth and personalised advice on maintaining oral health between appointments.
Yes. Periodontal gum disease treatment and ongoing management are available. Following an appropriate periodontal assessment, an individual treatment plan is developed according to clinical needs. Initial treatment may require several appointments depending on the extent and severity of the condition.
Yes. The denture cleaning service provides professional cleaning of removable dentures to help remove plaque, staining, food deposits and calculus. Patients and carers can also receive practical guidance on denture care at home.
Where appropriate, family members and carers involved in supporting a patient's daily oral care can receive practical oral health guidance. This can help them support effective daily oral hygiene between professional appointments.
Daytime, evening and weekend appointments are available, subject to appointment availability. Contact Reandon Smiles to discuss a suitable appointment time.
