General Dental Council Registration

Reandon Smiles provides professional mobile and domiciliary dental hygiene care, bringing personalised oral healthcare directly to homes, care settings, and other suitable locations.

GDC Registration Number: 131988

Gabriel is registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) and works within the professional standards, responsibilities and scope of practice applicable to registered dental professionals.

The GDC regulates dental professionals in the United Kingdom and sets standards designed to protect patients and maintain confidence in dental care.

Professional Education and Experience

Gabriel qualified in Oral Health Sciences at the University of Essex.

His qualifications include:

Foundation Degree in Oral Health Sciences, 2011

BSc in Oral Health Sciences, 2015

Throughout his career, Gabriel has developed experience in preventative dental care, professional dental hygiene treatment and periodontal care for patients with a wide range of oral health needs.

His approach combines clinical professionalism with clear communication, prevention, patient education and individualised care.

Patient Centred Care

Every patient has different oral health needs, circumstances and preferences.

At Reandon Smiles, treatment and advice are therefore tailored to the individual.

Before providing treatment, we consider relevant information about the patient’s oral health and circumstances. Findings are explained clearly and patients are given appropriate information about their care.

We believe patients should feel comfortable asking questions and understanding the care they receive.

Patient Safety

Patient safety is a fundamental part of our service.

Our mobile approach allows professional dental hygiene care to be delivered outside a traditional dental practice, but treatment must still be provided in a suitable environment.

We consider factors relevant to safe treatment, including the patient’s individual circumstances, clinical needs and suitability of the treatment location.

Where a patient’s needs fall outside our scope of practice or cannot be safely managed through our service, we may recommend appropriate referral to another dental or healthcare professional.

Infection Prevention and Control

Maintaining appropriate infection prevention and control practices is an important part of providing safe dental hygiene care.

Reandon Smiles uses professional portable dental equipment to provide mobile dental hygiene services.

We are committed to appropriate infection prevention and control practices relevant to the services we provide and the environments in which treatment is delivered.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Respecting patient confidentiality is an essential part of professional healthcare.

Personal and clinical information is handled carefully and in accordance with applicable data protection, confidentiality and professional requirements.

Information is only shared where there is an appropriate and lawful reason to do so, such as where necessary for patient care, where appropriate permission has been provided, or where disclosure is required by law.

Please see our Privacy Policy for further information about how personal information is collected, used and protected.

Professional Scope of Practice

Reandon Smiles provides professional dental hygiene and preventative oral healthcare services within the appropriate professional scope of practice.

Our services include:

  • Oral health screening and assessment
  • Mouth cancer screening
  • Routine dental hygiene appointments
  • Professional dental cleaning
  • Periodontal gum disease treatment and ongoing management
  • Denture cleaning
  • Personalised oral health instruction
  • Fluoride application
  • Diet and oral health advice

Where an oral health concern requires assessment or treatment outside our scope of care, the patient may be advised to seek appropriate care from a dentist, specialist or another healthcare professional.

Prevention and Education

We believe that good oral health involves more than professional cleaning.

Prevention and education are important parts of our approach.

Patients may receive personalised guidance on areas such as:

  • Toothbrushing
  • Interdental cleaning
  • Plaque control
  • Denture care
  • Gum health
  • Diet and oral health
  • Maintaining oral health between appointments

Where appropriate, family members or carers involved in supporting a patient’s daily oral care may also receive practical guidance.

Respect, Dignity and Accessibility

Every patient should be treated with dignity, respect and consideration.

Our mobile and domiciliary model is designed to make professional dental hygiene care more accessible and convenient for people who may find travelling to a traditional dental practice difficult or inconvenient.

This may include people with limited mobility, housebound patients, care home residents, busy professionals and people who simply prefer receiving care in their own environment.

Our service is not exclusively for elderly or housebound patients.

Mouth Cancer Screening

Mouth cancer screening may form part of preventative oral healthcare where appropriate.

The soft tissues of the mouth are examined for unusual changes or abnormalities that may require further investigation.

A screening does not provide a definitive diagnosis of mouth cancer. Where a potentially concerning finding is identified, the patient will be advised to seek appropriate further assessment or referral.

Patients should also seek professional advice about persistent or unusual changes in the mouth.

Periodontal Care

Patients with periodontal or gum disease may require more extensive treatment and ongoing management.

Following appropriate assessment, an individual care plan may be recommended according to the patient’s clinical needs.

Treatment may include professional cleaning, personalised oral hygiene instruction and ongoing periodontal maintenance.

Where further assessment or specialist treatment is required, appropriate referral may be recommended.

Continuous Professional Responsibility

Professional healthcare requires ongoing commitment to safe practice, learning and maintaining appropriate standards.

Reandon Smiles is committed to maintaining professional standards and providing care that prioritises patient safety, dignity, confidentiality and individual needs.

We aim to continually review our approach and identify opportunities to improve the quality and experience of our services.
